Das alte Kreuz auf dem Kirchplatz hatte seine Dienste getan. So hatte die Gemeinde Anlass, ihrem Pastor &#8211; damit aber sich selbst auch &#8211; ein neues Kreuz zu schenken. Mit der Fertigung wurde der Kunstschmied Hans Brunnert in Bottrop beauftragt. Kreuz und Korpus sind Schmiedearbe\u0131t.
